We Work Remotely is a job board that hosts over 25,000 remote opportunities. With over 3 million visitors, We Work Remotely is the largest remote work community in the world. The platform’s hiring partners include top companies Google, Amazon, and Github.

To apply for one of the thousands of remote jobs on the platform, job seekers first create a free account. Registered users can filter jobs by role type, time zone, the region they can work from, and more. The platform also runs an active Slack channel and forum where users can discuss remote positions.

Job listings may be full-time, part-time, and even contract. The platform’s most popular job categories include software development, design, devops, systems administration, management, finance, product, customer support, sales, and marketing. However, companies often post jobs that do not fall under any of the aforementioned categories.

For job seekers, We Work Remotely is free. Companies pay $299 to post a simple job listing. For increased visibility, companies can choose between the Good ($358), Better ($398), and Best ($448) posting options.

Ratings and reviews

Although still a relatively young platform, We Work Remotely has received mostly positive reviews. They hold a 4/5 star rating on g2 based on just 1 review. The user loved that “jobs are broken down by category. I also appreciate the resources, such as trends and highly touted companies.” Since they had struggled to find roles that were explicitly remote on job boards like LinkedIn, the user was impressed by the variety of remote roles from top companies on the new platform. Their only complaint was that they couldn’t filter based on time zone and location, which has recently been added as a feature.

While users on Trustpilot were generally impressed by the variety of “good job listings”, they felt that the user interface could be improved. Loading times could also be a tad long. Users on Product Hunt described the platform as a “handy board for the freelancers” with plenty of remote opportunities from thousands of companies. Some users wished they had more filtering options with a more intuitive layout. On the whole though, users were satisfied with the huge amount of remote jobs on the platform.

Focused on remote roles at startups, Remotive.io is an especially helpful job board because it only shows openings that were posted recently.
As the name suggests, No Desk is a job board for people looking for roles where they can work from anywhere. They host jobs from a wide variety of companies, from startups to large organizations like Twitter.
Women looking for remote work can check out Remote Woman. Their job listings are carefully curated specifically by their community so applicants apply to trusted companies with inclusive company cultures.
Although smaller than We Work Remotely, Jobspresso hosts remote job listings as well.
Job-seekers interested in working at a startup can check out AngelList. This job board hosts listings from a wide variety of early stage startups. While job-seekers can filter opportunities based on their unique preferences, companies can also reach out directly to candidates.
People seeking flexible job opportunities can also look into FlexJobs, a job board for remote, flexible timing, or freelance work. They hand screen all of the positions on the site to ensure they are high quality and real.
Triplebyte is a hiring platform for software engineers that streamlines the job search. Like We Work Remotely, companies work directly with Triplebyte and “apply to you”, seeking out candidates. The startup Underdog.io connects job-seekers with hiring startups. Currently, their services are only available in San Francisco and New York City.
People seeking a modern talent agency can check out Free Agency. Although the program is completely remote and largely self-paced, they offer 24/7 support. Their talent has been placed at top tech companies like Facebook and Amazon.
